Standing almost 60cm tall this cake was a logistical nightmare. The tower was made of lolly cake and needed to be kept well below room temperature to maintain it's structural integrity.

The "bungalow" and the tower were made separately and not assembled until an hour before the party. This was because the tower needed to be kept cool and we didn't have a refrigerator big enough to fit it complete!
The smile almost makes it worthwhile. This photo hides it well, however the journey to the birthday venue and the hour long wait before presentation took its toll. By the time Thing One got to see her cake, it was lurching at a precarious angle and threatening to fall in her lap!
