I had planned from the outset to put lights in this model, so it was fortunate that the kit lent itself quite nicely to the prospect.
But, as there were no clear parts, I had to diligently cut out each of the relevant apertures. Creating the pathways for wiring through the arms (and leg) were no problem. The 2 x AA battery housing hides inside the base, and powers a 3mm LED in the chest, three 1mm LED's, each in the hands and head, and another 3mm LED which lights the logo on the base. A push-button on/off switch is situated at the back of the base between the cog teeth.
As suggested in the kit instructions, I sprayed the figure entirely in metallic gold (Tamiya Gold Leaf spray bomb), then masked out the relevant panels and coated a layer of translucent red (Tamiya Translucent Red spray bomb). And it worked a treat!
I may still give the kit another blow over to deepen the red a little more. The last coat went on so flawlessly at the time I didn't want to stretch my luck and go another round!
All in all, an excellent kit from Moebius. The only real shame is the pose of the figure, - it would have been nice to see something a little more dynamic and/or dramatic perhaps...
Oh! And the size...
